Midtronics, Inc. introduced its Micro500 Battery/Starting/Charging System Analyzer with new 15 foot cables at the APAA/ASIA/MEMA trade show this week in Las Vegas. Midtronics, known as the world leader in battery management technology, recognized the need to simplify in-vehicle electrical system testing. To answer this call, Midtronics added the 15 foot cables as an option for its popular unit. A series of tester prompts allows the user to completely analyze the battery, starter, and alternator without leaving the driver’s seat.
Midtronics’ Micro500 was the first hand-held battery tester and charging system diagnostic tool on the market. The Micro500 is used to test 6- and 12-volt automotive and marine batteries and 12- and 24-volt charging systems from 100-1700 CCA.
Utilizing patented conductance technology, the easy-to-use, portable Micro500 can test batteries discharged as low as one volt. Because it measures a battery’s conductance, or ability to produce current, the Micro500 does not place load on the battery for testing purposes. No load means no heat or sparks – which can damage the unit or even pose danger to the user.
