Willowbrook, IL. - October 31, 2000: Midtronics recently announced the release of its new PBT-100 Battery/Charging System Tester. For the first time, every technician now can have products using the same battery test technology required for use in OEM garages around the world. The PBT-100 tests individual 12-volt automotive starting batteries, even when discharged. Using Midtronics’ patented conductance technology, the company has created a tester for the technician that’s easy-to-use, portable and designed for safe, fast, and simple testing.
Unlike many other battery testers on the market, the portable PBT-100 is extremely safe to use. Because it measures a battery’s conductance, or ability to produce current, the PBT-100 does not need to place load on the battery for testing purposes. No load means no heat or sparks – which can damage the unit or even pose danger to the user. The PBT-100 even tests discharged batteries, saving the user the time usually needed to charge a battery before testing.
The durable design of the PBT-100 allows it to withstand any environment, from the average workshop to the harsh effects of field use. Couple this with an easy-to-use interface and decision display upon completion of testing; the PBT-100 makes every technician a battery/charging system expert. |
