 | Willowbrook, IL. - October 31, 2000: Midtronics recently announced the release of the new inTELLECT Advanced Electrical System Analyzer. The inTELLECT, Midtronics first cart-mounted analyzer, provides the most comprehensive electrical diagnostic capabilities available. The inTELLECT identifies problems immediately, giving technicians more time to concentrate on fixing them – making their time more efficient and cost-effective.
The inTELLECT’s includes:
Advanced Conductance Battery Test Fast and safe, conductance testing measures the battery’s ability to produce current. Because it does not place a load on the battery for testing purposes, the unit does not produce heat or sparks – which can damage the unit or even pose danger to the user.
Starter Test
Conventional analyzers require additional connections to be made and the ignition system to be disabled. The inTELLECT simplifies this process by only requiring the technician to hook its connectors up to the starter and start the vehicle. Instantly, the inTELLECT captures starter cranking voltage and time to start, providing unique and critical information required to make an accurate diagnosis.
Full Charging System Test
In less than one minute, the inTELLECT’s unique charging system test algorithm evaluates the entire charging system. Using initial battery test results and real-time voltage measurements taken at four different time intervals while exercising the charging system, the inTELLECT determines if the charging system is capable of supplying the current needs of the electrical system while still charging the battery. The inTELLECT also performs an AC ripple evaluation to detect diode and stator faults.
Parasitic Drain Analysis The inTELLECT measures and assesses actual key-off current draw (which may cause a discharged battery). Plus, its built-in memory saver retains the computer’s programming while performing maintenance. |
