Midtronics Introduces New GR-1 Diagnostic Conductance Charger

IJsselstein, The Netherlands – June 2, 2001: Midtronics today introduced the new GR-1TM Diagnostic Conductance Charger at the Autopromotec Trade Fair in Bologna, Italy. The GR-1 uses Conductance Technology to provide advanced battery diagnostics and controlled charging, so that every battery problem can be solved in minutes, not days.

“The GR-1 will change battery charging the way Conductance Technology has changed battery testing, said Wim Koster,” Vice President Midtronics. He added, “Now, also professional service locations in Europe will be able to solve every battery problem in one visit, which means an end to customer complaints about waiting for battery service.”

Midtronics created the Diagnostic Battery Charger category because of the problems associated with traditional battery chargers. Standard chargers can work for technicians that understand batteries and charging, but as batteries and vehicles continue to change, the service industry must change.

“The GR-1 really changes the service equation for the professional service shop and technician,” said David VonderHaar, Business Unit Director for Vehicle Applications. He added, “Taking care of the customer in an hour or less, means more satisfied customers and repeat business.”

Midtronics battery and electrical system analyzers are essential or required tools at most dealer service locations around the world, including DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, Saab, Fiat, and Renault, with other programs nearing completion. Working together with most major automotive OEMs around the world, Midtronics is recognized as the leader in battery management technology because of its customer driven solutions to battery management problems. From this market penetration, Midtronics’ patented conductance technology has emerged as the new standard for battery diagnosis.
