 | Willowbrook, IL - March 20, 2003: Midtronics, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the assets of Intra Technologies, the premier producer of power management solutions used to improve the reliability, efficiency and cost of DC power systems. All of Intra Technologies’ products utilize their proprietary patented MOSFET semiconductor switch, which can manage extremely high electrical current while generating very small amounts of heat in a very cost and size efficient packaging. Intra’s superior solid-state products provide protection from battery power loss, over current, overheating, short circuit and other power issues encountered in vehicle applications.
“Intra Technologies is the technical leader in the markets it serves,” said Steve McShane, President and Chief Executive Officer of Midtronics. “Combining their products and technologies with Midtronics expertise will strengthen Intra’s position, and expand the markets for Midtronics’ traditional battery testing, monitoring and charging products.”
Continuing, McShane also stated, “Beyond this initial impact, the combined strength of our technologies will lead to advanced power system management solutions. This includes further enhancement of inGEN, our intelligent battery monitoring system, to include power management, by providing control of circuits to ensure energy efficiency, safety and driver comfort. The Intra switch combined with inGEN will provide charging and electrical system control based on battery state of charge and state of health calculations, as well as current, voltage and temperature inputs. The combination of Intra with Midtronics will create the most technologically advanced integrated energy management systems available anywhere in the world.”
