Midtronics Introduces First Battery Conductance Tester for Motorcycle and Power Sports Batteries

Willowbrook, IL, August 17, 2004: Midtronics, the world leader in battery testing for the transportation and industrial markets, released its first tester designed for testing motorcycle and other power sports (ATV, personal watercraft) batteries, the company announced today. The PBT-50 battery tester utilizes Midtronics’ proven and patented battery conductance testing technology along with a new method of battery characterization to provide highly accurate assessments.

“The main difficulty with the testing of motorcycle and power sports batteries has been the lack of a consistent battery rating either in CCAs or Amp hours identified on the battery label,” said Peter Elsenbach, Midtronics Product Manager. “The PBT-50 tester uses a reference number table to allow an accurate test based on the battery’s part number. By inputting a reference number into the tester, the user has a safe, fast and simple solution for testing the motorcycle or power sports battery.”

The PBT-50 is now available though Midtronics global network of distributors.
